The Grand Brighton Half Marathon 2019

Sunday 24th February marked the 29th year of the annual Grand Brighton Half Marathon. With a runner count of up to almost 8000, the day commenced with a fresh 7:30am start at the Race Desk. It was a welcome surprise to have clear, sunny skies (compared to the freezing conditions of last year!); the 15 degree weather feeling considerably balmy for a 13.1mile route through the vibrant city of Brighton.

E3 Events are proud to call 2019 our fifth year working with the headline charity and owner of the Half Marathon race: Sussex Beacon, to deliver this uplifting event, and we would like to thank our 360 strong team of committed volunteers who helped make this possible with their amazing efforts.

There were many incredible PB’s, including a record breaker in the Wheelchair race from Paralympian Tiaan Bosch, and a course record from Paul Navesey who completed the race in 01.04.56. Huge congratulations to all competitors this year – your comradery and sportsmanship made the day. See below for this years’ top results:

There have been exciting improvements for steps towards a more environmentally-friendly direction for The Grand Brighton Half Marathon this year. By eliminating plastic bottles, we provided water in recyclable cans and compostable cups at the re-fill stations to help drive the city’s efforts of sustainability.
